They are doing great! They are feeding and interacting with my platys! They are feeding on flake and Daphnia btw.
not for very long. you're going to kill these fish.
Sphaerichthys osphromenoides, the Chocolate Gourami, is a very demanding species, which in my opinion can be recommended only for expert aquariasts. water quality must be maintained as excellent at all times and must be changed often. this is the most difficult Labyrinth fish to care for. It is extremely delicate and is susceptible to parasites, fungus, bacteria, and disease. the Chocolate Gourami is a short-lived fish. in the wild in inhabits shore areas of small, still and slow-moving black water with heavy vegetation in Southeast Asia; western Borneo, Malaysia, and Sumatra.
of 20 to 25 gallons (76-95 L) should be considered minimum for a pair. the tank should be heavily planted with a cover of floating plants and lots of hiding places among wood, rocks, and roots. the substrate should be dark and the lighting should be dim. use a filtration system that creates only slight circulation.
This species does best in peat filtered water with a pH in the low to mid- 6's at a temperature in the mid 80's °. a peaceful, timid fish that is best kept in a pair in a species tank. if combined with other fish, keep with other small, calm, nonaggressive species. a three spot gourami is a terrible tank mate and platy's are far too enthusiastic.
research this species. you'll find that they're very hard to keep alive and yours will be no exception unless you change their environment drastically.
