Yur experiences with flourite...

Flourite can take a few days or more to clear up/Once you get thw water up to the level of the substrate put a lagre plate or something and add the water on top of the plate. You could probably get away with 1/3 flourite and 2/3 regular same size other with the same result unless you going REAL- high -tech planted.

If i were to get flourite, does anyone know how i would rinse it out?

The tip with Flourite is to rinse it, alot. Then let it dry out again, like on old cookie sheets, and with it being summer, the long hot days makes it a quick process.

OK, I'll consider flourite, because thats what my LFS has, and I woulden't have to order eco online and pay for shipping. Thanks Guys!

You also might want to wear gloves when you rinse the Flourite. It always cuts up my hands. I also recommend putting a strainer in the sink because I kinda broke my garbage disposal with Flourite.

X2 on the six pack. Maybe you could get a beer helmet because your hands are going to be all pruny and numb from the rinsing.

a LFS should be able to order whatever you want. so if you want no rinsing you can get eco for probably the same price from the LFS

If your patient with Fluorite its not bad at all, wet it, then let it dry. Easy Peasy

Dr.'s doesn't charge extra for shipping, unless you want it overnighted.

I ordered 3, 25 lb bags of gravel. Along with a bunch of other stuff for a total of...
Merchandise Subtotal :$231.26 + Shipping :$17.99

And sense I had an API Nitrate test kit. Most of my order took a nice long ride in a truck to arrive around 7 days later. While the 2 boxes containing the gravel, arrived in 3 days. go figur.

Oh ok...Thanks!, but now as i look more, i seem to like the looks of flourite more...It just seems more like an ocean floor to me...ah i decide soon! hahahhaa

Edit: Can i put flourite down, and then put a light layer of gravel on top? or would that just hur the plants?
