Hey all

Has anybody had any experience with these fish or got any details they would care to share?

Cheers for the information. How did you find your zebra? They dont grow too big do they? About 6"?

I think I have a real steal on with this pleco. I was in a store yesterday and noticed it, when I asked what it was the lady in there, said she did not know! She looked in a book and could not find it, I had my suspicions! I have bought it for £10 (you do the math on the £ to $). This has been the first time I have ever found such a bargain, and prob the last!:dance2:

So you paid the equivalent of around $20 I don't think they where ever that cheep. I got mine from this very cool fish place near me about 8 years ago. I don't recall size but I think around 3 1/2 4 inches would be a real big one. Good luck with him and remember they eat meat not vegetation.

I doubt that any LFS would not be able to tell what a zebra pleco is. You probably have gotten one of the look alike plecos. Can you post a picture of it?
 
I was completely ripped!

I returned to the lfs on Saturday, and was told that the fish was sold by mistake! No way! My theory is they realised or were informed of its actual cost. I was furious! I want one so badly now but cant really justify the price tag. Oh well it looks like a BN Cat for now...Woo Hoo?

It actually does happen, this is how I got one a few months back. Full grown adult male $39.99. It does happen, although I did drive really fast 90 miles north to get it. :D Whatever it takes sometimes.

They actually max at 3.5-4".
