Zebra Danio/Glofish getting sick?

I've had healthy zebra danios develop curved spines, which is probably genetic.

Whats the tank size?
Tank stock?
Can you post as much of the water parameters as possible?
What test kit are you using?
Whats your setup like?

30 Gallon tank
right now I have:
4 GloFish
2 Zebra Danios
2 Cory Cats
3 Ottos
1 Snail that tagged along on a plant
5 Ghost shrimp
API Freshwater Master Test Kit (Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate, and PH), Is there any thing else I should/could be testing?
I've got a Marineland Penguin 200 filter

I'll get water parameters from my test kit in a bit.

If it's just the danios that are affected then I would be inclined to say that it's just bad stock.

Two of the ones that died were from the batch that we bought in October and then one of them was from some that we bought in November or so. We did buy them from the same store.

I've been watching the GloFish I was worried about this morning and it seems fine now, All the fish in the tank are active now, may have been a false alarm, Just trying to be proactive.

fish TB is so rare that chances are it isnt fish TB. a curved spine can be a symptom of a number of conditions, including poor diet, the wasting disease, or just simply being very underweight and/or old. i really think that people should stop associating TB with only looking like a "curved spine." in reality, it looks more along the lines of a broken spine, not just curved.

for example, female livebearers will often have a curved spine after giving birth. it is not because they have TB, but because their stomachs had been so huge and their organs so compressed for so long that when everything suddenly returned to normal after giving birth to 70 fry, their bodies hadn't had the time to catch up.

I agree, if only the GloFish had it it's probably bad stock. I've heard they develop curved spines over time sometimes anyways. I'm glad I was wrong :D.

Hi guys,

I just saw this threat and wondered why no one had the idea of what happens here:
Glofish are genetic manipulated fish and have very little immune system that functions. Genetic manipulated fishes have a very short life span, some may live for a year or so but most will die soon, as they are not natural and very weak.

It is actually a crime to sell gene manipulated fishes, in Europe (the EU) they are banned already by law, hopefully it will be worldwide. People who do this to fishes are considered criminals.

I wish you all would also dstay away from it. There are so fantastic coloured fishes, why does one want such artifical glofishes? I really wonder, as NOTHING beats nature,

think about it and very best regards

It is the Zebra Danios that have died, not the Glofish, I was suspecting a Glofish was sick yesterday morning, but it appears fine now.
