I have 9 zebra danios, and i have a few question is any one can help!
First off, is it possible to overfeed them? it seem like the never get enough. when ever i put some food in there the go into a frenzey and its all gone within a minute, then it seem like they are digging through the rocks incase any sank to the bottom! any suggestions?

is there any easy way to the sex of the fish?

do they sleep?

Thanks in advance!

I have a Zebra Danio fish too! I want to know the same thing that TrevorScott is asking. Mine also NEVER gets enough food too lol. I feed it and then its belly gets all full it looks like its got babys, then 30 min or less passes and the belly looks all normal. I have a quick qustion about these fish, has anyone ever breed these fish in a home aquarium? Do they lay eggs or give live birth?

I dont think so dont overfeed they are jsut hte same as any fish....zebra danios breed ALOT..

Zebra danios lay eggs. You really should consider getting a few more. They are schooling fish and would be happier in groups.

They will always act like they are starving but resist the temptation to overfeed. I've read that you should feed as much as they can eat in five minutes but with danios, I'd cut that back to one minute. I've also read that thier stomachs are roughly the same size as thier eyes. I try to give my fish just enough to fill ther belly once a day and fast them on Sunday.

They may not be eating the food, just inspecting it or pecking at it. I notice danios basically just trying to sink all the food they see on the surface for the heck of it.

First off, is it possible to overfeed them?
Yes and it is applicable to all fish but it is not advisable to do so.

Resist the temptation to overfeed your fish! Fish will never stop eating at all.

Males are smaller and slimmer whereas females are the opposite.
do they sleep?
Yes. All fish do. That is why you must switch off your lighting at night.

And they lay eggs... that hatch in 2-4 days!
And then u will see just some tinny lines glued at the aqua sides...
When u try to breed them in a separate aqua u will get some hundreds of those... nice to watch :P

First Egglayers I've ever bred...I THINK that I have a post here about it.....I think that I was mistaken in the post.

I stated that I put a male and female in the tank, which I did, next day female was slim so i removed them. The NEXT day I had babies.

In actuality.....I think that there were already eggs in the tank and they hatched.

Since I am here.

My babies are growing at several different speeds....i have one that is about 3/4 inch long and from there they go down to nearly newborns, all in a tank with JUST the fry. Is this normal??
