My zebra danios have started to try and peck at my cherry shrimp, (the cherries are 1.5cm long each) and there were six...but now it seems that there is only one. The only fish that have been agressive to them are the danios, so I assume its them. They get fed twice a day.

Anyone else have this problem? Im confused...

i have danios also and the ones that i buy never really seem like peaceful community fish. they try to pick at everything in my tank even fish bigger like my american flagfish.

oh so sorry to hear that i have danios leopard and zebra in a tank with goldies an shrimp, shrimps have their own tank now and everything was fine but i do find danios to quick for most placid fish an they unsettle them but never seen them pick on any fish an never lost a fish to danios either its normally shrimp if possible try to keep danios with their own kind .if u dont wanna lose the shrimp i would move them or move the danios to their own tank gl x

I've got ghosts in with mine and the ghosts were afraid of them at first but now ghosts and danios get along fine and don't bother each other.

I'm getting Cherry shrimp in the near future and hope I don't have the same problem.

One thing that might help me, why my ghosts and cherry shrimp get along- is that I have a dozen Danios... Danios do start to pester tank mates if kept in small numbers. I think 6 is a minimum number but 10 or more is preferable.

I would guess that if they are picking at the adults already, then you probably wont see any baby shrimp as they are tasty little snacks to them.
