don't worry, I got mine for $50 from a guy who breeds them down in florida.
So give us his name and number already!

I have 15 zebras. A breeding colony of 13 in a 30 breeder tank along with anywhere from a few to 20+ fry (they are incredible hiders). The other two are housed in a discus tank.

I feed them: blood worms, AquaDine wafers (mix of meaty and veggie ones) eathworm sticks and once a week spirulina with garlic flake.

The tank temps for them are between 85 and 90 degrees.

The breeder tank contains a ton of wood and rock work as well as spawning caves but is bare bottom. The wood is not for eating as much as hiding.

All of the fish were wild caught and originally purchased 3-5 years ago.

You should get together with that chap in NC that has put together a breeding group of about 80 or so zebras in an attempt to produce a decent number of fry for the hobby....you could make a zebra breeding consortium.

I am aware of a number of other people breeding zebras around the country. There is one one in the Chicago area similar to the person you mention in NC. Many of us breeding zebras are doing so to insure their survival in auqriums if not in thw wild and to make money as well. When my fry are at a sellable/shippable size I plan to sell them in groups to folks I believe will try to grow them out and spawn them and will porbably do so for below market prices. It would be shame to see this species diasppear.

My 15 come from 4 different sources and should provide a somewhat diversified gene pool.

sorry, my fish store recommened him, and all I got was a phone number, which I lost and can't remember! sorry! :duh: also, I got her in last night. I created a little cave for her by covering the front half of a arched piece of driftwood with java moss and blocking the other side off with a piece of slate. she is eating readily and is quite healthy, dispite her long trip. I have named her jewel, 'cause she's very pretty, and set me back a lotta money!

I might want to breed her, so if you could supply me with your price for a male, it would be appreciated.

I am not willing to part with any of my adults at this point. Its would be kinda like selling the goose instead of the golden eggs it keeps laying :p

juveniles? throw a guy a fish, here! I just want to breed them so I can replenish the wild population. (P.S. she's young, too. just 1 1/2
inches long.)
