In addition to the live rock I posted in another thread I also picked up 2 Zebra Turbo Snails yesterday. Huge things, about 2.5 inches across. They were both moving around at the lfs and quite active. After acclimating them and releasing them into the tank the one took to the rock, sand and whatnot as if he had found snail utopia and I adore the guy.

The other one however has stayed tight inside his shell and refused to come out. When bagging him at the store, the lfs guy did touch his foot a bit to get him to recess back into his shell because he came out so much. Could he have frightened the thing severely? Will he eventually come out? From reading on the web I saw a story about one that had escaped the tank and was dried out a bit but after being replaced in the tank it came out fairly soon, expelled it's waste and then went on it's merry way. I'm hoping I'm worried over nothing and my second guy will soon appear and be as happy as the first.

A photo of the first last night.

Awsome looking brutes....he he he

Obviously, just watch it carefully, i would say, from past experience of snails, it shoud be fine, some do take a while to "come out of their shell" so to speak...

Thanks! I love the one guy and am anxious to have the other one playing soon as well. As with any new hobbyist I'm really having to learn patience in this hobby and well....that can be a struggle at times. ;-)

Zebra Snails are very vigorous, If the other one doesn't move, he is either sick or dying.

I bought 3 and one was dead on the spot, the other took a week to die with little to no movement. But, the one that survived is still alive and he is usually all over the place.

He was quite lively when I picked him out yesterday. I'm hoping he isn't sick or dying. I just wrapped some seaweed around a large shell against the glass and placed him on it. Perhaps he'll be enticed to show himself.

Another ID please. Just left of center...is that a worm? Am I so lucky to have a featherduster? Looks like a delicate transparent flower of sorts. It is near the seaweed wrapped shell I placed near the glass for the one snail that isn't showing itself.

Looks like a duster to me, I have a few of them poping up here and there from time to time.
