Took the filter apart and decided to attempt to clean the tubing also. I'm not a huge fan of the Fluval tubing and didn't have a lot of luck. Didn't help that the spray bar I built is impossible to clean. I'm going to need to build a new one...
Anyway...
I started the filter with the magic eraser hack and completely dry plumbing, and filter simply refused to prime. I even filled the canister up with tank water and it still would not start, just churned and churned. No matter what I did, I could not get the thing to start.
So I took it apart again and decided to try it without the magic eraser. I connected it, and plugged it in, and all of the sudden, air shooting out of the return and the filter starts up.
I'll leave it that way for now, since I'm camping with the Boy Scouts from tomorrow through Wednesday, and don't want my wife coming home to a disaster.
