Zoa spiders?

I have a few zoas and polyps coming in soon. I happened to run across some posts about spiders that eat zoas. Is this something I should take precautions to prevent (FW dips, etc) or is it abnormal to have this happen?
TIA!

Most people get rid of pycnogonids manually by removing them. Dips in lugol's solution, Tropic Marin Pro Coral Cure, quick freshwater dips (30s or so), and/or Revive have also been recommended. Either way, you should quarantine infected zoanthids and observe for the re-emergence of more pycnogonids.

I've only run into zoa eating spiders once in the last 4.5 years, but they are something to watch out for all the same. I much more commonly run into zoa eating nudibranchs and red flatworms.

Dipping new coral additions to remove any pests is always a good idea. I don't use fw for any of the dips, I just use some water from the tank they are going in to mix up my dip (be it Lugol's solution, Flatworm Exit, Furan-2, etc.).

My above statement was misleading. I didn't mean FW in conjunction with any of the chemicals I mentioned. I meant it as a standalone dip, which can be followed by one of the others.

So I should dip them in tank water with Revive (for about 10-15 min? Longer?), and then will I still need to acclimate them or is that pointless then?
Should I do all corals this way, or just zoas?
