I am still building my second tank (that I planned on using to grow zoos) but I have the chance to buy some very nice zoos which are just what I was looking for (color wise). They will have their new home within a month or so (probably much sooner, but with Christmas I cant say 100% that things wont get delayed) but until then they will have to live in my FOWLR tank that has only a 40 watt NO flurescent light. The tank is a 30 gallon and I know that it isnt enough light for them to grow or thrive, but would they survive with that little light? I really dont want to miss out on buying them because I am so picky about the colors I want that I may have to wait a long time till I find some more that I like as much. Any help or thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks
Rick

When my monti cap grew out and shaded some zoos completely, they survived several months before I could rearrange things. The zoos recovered quickly once they were getting light again. However, you are adding the stress of moving, so I'm not sure how well yours will do. If you do it, try to put them as close to the lights as possible.
