My 'work' station at home if you can call it that. Uni notes on top of the scanner. Pistachios for sustenance. Box of unopened tissues because I have a cold and that was the free box (buy one get one free), sketchbooks and paper stacked on top of the printer. Various junk on the shelf. Festive screen wallpaper.

(YES i know it's not a pc.. but it's still a computer and therefore it counts :P)

Fairly confident in your pc there, eh? Well, to each their own.

Phenom 9950 3.0ghz @ 1.3625v, 4gb Corsair 1066mhz @ 5-5-5-15, GIGABYTE GA-MA790GP-DS4H, MSI Radeon 4870 X2 @ 780/980, 160gb main hdd, 500gb data drive. (both sata 3.0 7200 rpm.. nothing fancy)

Not saying that mine is better than yours, on benchmarks you'd likely score a bit higher, but yours certainly doesn't "tear mine up" either. :p: I'm looking forward to the new Deneb cores AMD will be releasing in the next couple months, as my mobo is already confirmed to be compatible. (though, I do love my Phenom thus far)

lol ok here we go...

startin from the left (big black screen)

thats hooked up to my P3 (yes P3!) 800MHZ music pc. it runs a heavily modified version of windows 98 and actually sits in the closet (on the lefter side of that pic) It holds around a Terabyte (1000 gigs) of music mostly metal and drum N bass/hardcore/speedcore (lots of mind numbing music)

next is my laptop which is my 300 dollar wonder at best buy..Acer Extensa 5620 2 gigs of ram lame vista but does my average browsing, posting on here, work etc. etc.

next to that is my carpc and secondary screen for my laptop..Carpc..yes for my CAR....its a P3 10 gig hard drive 512 ram heavily modified version of xp (my windows folder is 230 megs). Once the weather warms up a little bit I'll be installing this into my car (hopefully)..and of course if I ever need to extend My screen I use that screen and have a dual desktop

NEXT to that is an Ibook (yes I know its a mac I know I know) Basically I have this for when clients send me files from their mac that won't read in windows I throw it over there then make it windows friendly and grab it over the network on my laptop.

and yea I'm single so what! :D

Nothing special...our office turned into Gwen's room, so the work area has been relegated to a small desk in the kitchen (space is at a premuim around here). This is the cleanest the desk has been in...months probably.

I *almost* started a thread like this of my own, but I figured I ought to check first and lo and behold, look what I found. It's old, but reviving it is probably preferable to starting again, so...

Here's mine:
http://img17.imageshack.us/img17/8081/desk1r.jpg

Just moved into this place a few months ago, been too busy with other stuff to hang any art or anything in my office. In fact, I just this room unpacked recently.

Monitor is a 30" Dell, my main computer sits on top of the other two. That box has two quad core Xeon E5410s (2.33GHz), 18 gigs of ECC DDR2, a HD3870, and three OCZ Summit SSDs in RAID 0. My gaming rig (Phenom 9950BE @ 3.2, 8GB, Crossfire w/4 HD3870s) and my file server (which is currently offline, I haven't unpacked the hard drives yet) are under it. Speakers are some cheap Polk things that I bought after borrowing my good ones for the TV, amp is a Pioneer SX-1980 (old, but made when these things were made right).

Since the thread got revived, I might as well post my 'work'station. The picture is from 10 minutes ago, note which thread I'm viewing. It's not usually this clean, I just cleared it off today so I had room to work on an LED project.

Yeah, the Skeleton is ok. I wouldn't have bought it but for the fact that it was the best compromise on cooling and footprint for the space I needed to fit it in at the time. I certainly wouldn't buy another one. It looks decent, but the LEDs in the fan have no off switch and default to rotating colors when the machine is powered on, the fan itself is garbage, a lot of the front panel i/o cables are too short (and I'm using a SuperMicro X7DCA-L, which is a mATX-ish board), and it's not all that nice to work on. But if you really like the looks it's not a terrible case. :) The CoolerMaster CM-590s it's sitting on, on the other hand, are really (beeeep)ing nice for $60 cases. Load 'em up with decent 120mm fans and they'll keep just about anything you can fit in them cool and stay pretty quiet while doing it.

As for what I do with 8 cores, 18 gigs of RAM and three RAIDed SSDs? The same thing most people do with their netbooks: Screw around on the internet. :lol2:

Seriously though, it's my photo editing box and my primary desktop. 18GB is, admittedly, a little bit more than I actually need to do what I do with this thing. But I've found through experience with my laptops that sometimes 8GB isn't enough for what I do, so I just picked up 4 4GB sticks for the desktop a while back and kept two of the original 1GB sticks in it. No issues with lack of memory on this thing now, and 7 seems to make good use of most of it. :D
