please help me get rid of BBA

Sounds to me like it isn’t algae at all, more likely something disintegrating. A leaf of something or perhaps some dead moss itself.

    DIY CO2 questions???

I think your questions are not clear. I add plants to all my aquariums as soon as I set them up. What are you wanting to know? If you want to add diy co2 go ahead. Do you have fish in there? What plants do you want to grow? How much light do you have.

    Plant ID

Well you may think I am wrong but I would say the rhizome is just too small for you to recognize.

    Plant ID

I would say that is an anubias from those roots. Don’t put it in the substrate. If the two larger leaves are old cut them off. If it is new to you it very well may have been growing emersed before you got it. If the smaller leaves are new and have grown since you got it, it is just adjusting to...

Help me build a planted tank- start to finish.

The way I see it you want about 1.5 w/g and you want some form of substrate fertilization. That givers you the ability to grow plants that are root feeders. Otherwise you can grow the typical low light java fern, anubias etc plants but with a richer substrate sword plants, cryptocoryne vals and...

    heavily planted 10 gal?

I have a ten gal tank with the typical fluorescent fixture. I have java fern, java moss, cabomba, hygrophila difformis, Cryptocoryne wendti and Cryptocoryne balansae all growing in that tank. There is a flourite substrate and I add minor amounts of flourish and flourish excel twice a week. There...

    CO2 System Setup in Vivarium

If I understand those pictures you are building a large open space above a 30g tank. Unless you plan on putting some lights under the land mass you have built, you are going to have almost no light in the tank itself. I think before you worry about co2 you need to think about getting light into...

    CO2 System Setup in Vivarium

Why would you need it? We would need a lot more information to really help you. What is it you want to grow? How much light do you have? What is in the tank? How deep is the water? How much land space is there? Etc.

    New tank new fish

Looks like you have got yourself a whole new challenge. Sounds like a lot of fun. I bet there are more than a few cherry shrimp breeders that might be willing to help.

    Help with plants

No. There are also a lot of plants that won’t grow under that light and without other nutrients. Here is a fairly easy guide from the UK. http://www.birstall.co.uk/ranges/99984-1.html

    Help with plants

I can’t really tell what the lights are. It says they are 15w compact fluorescent. If they are and there are two of them you would have around 2w/g. That is enough light to grow a lot of plants in.

    Brown Algae - pics included

I think that is actually a fungus.

Do you know what bulbs come with that tank? Looks to me like you could grow all kinds of plants in that set up.
