Thank you for all the cool options. Since I don't know when I'm moving yet I'm gonna do some research. Hmmm maybe I can even get a bigger tank once I move? It's a thought :)
I've had rams before and done quite well with them actually. I love their look and certainly wouldn't mind going with something like that again. What should I use as a substrate in a rock tank? Sand or small gravel? What could I put in with GBR's? I like the look of Apistos, would they all get...
Right now the tank setup is nada. It's going to be completely cleared out because my plants grew some psycho algae that I cannot get rid of. So, I'm thinking I want to try something different with a rock formation or something. I'm just looking around and I'm pretty open to any suggestions that...
Oh and one final requirement, nothing aggressive. I've seen that a lot of the cichlids at my LFS say aggressive on them and I don't want fish that are ripping each others heads off. I want a happy tank :)
Hey all! Haven't been around here in a LONG time and a lot has changed. Had to Downgrade to a 25g tall which obviously isn't big enough for my goldfish. I want to try something different and I was wondering what my options would be as far as cichlids go. I've had angels and paradise fish before...
My dad always had huge fishtanks when I was little that I got to help with, I guess that sparked my obsession. The first I can remember actively taking care of was a 250ish gallon with oscars, jack dempseys and green terrors. My dad would stand me on a chair with some worms and the oscars would...
O-M-G i just died and went to fishy heaven! i need a gazillion gallon goldfish tank! i need to not look at these threads they give me too many insane ideas hahaha
my goldfish are small still so the corydoras aren't a problem, but as my guys get bigger I guess that will have to be a reconcideration! though my cories for the most part are quite large little suckers! lol
Hey all-
Just wondering if this has ever happened to any of you and wondering if i should change out my substrate. Yesterday I woke up and my little calico oranda had a rock stuck in his mouth, I left him for about 15 minutes then he sank to the bottom like he was going to die. I decided to take...
i agree with the others, though my goldfish are relatively small still, their tank is planted with anubias, crypts, java fern and floating pennywort (that i expected to be gone a long time ago lol). sorry for your loss on the other little guy, and though you might want to search for an...
Honestly I've kept cherry shrimp with a betta and drawf gouramis before and had no issues in a 5 gallon. If anything they may have kept the population in check but my shrimp still flourished from 15 to around 60 in a matter of months
that's odd... i had otos and cories in with my gouramis and they were always fine. plec's never do well in my tanks for some reason so i gave up on them a long time ago
help pay the bills. thats what i had to do. we live in a two family (mom and dad upstairs, me and hubby downstairs) and they werent making us pay anything... that is until i set up my tanks and left the lights on all day ... oops. they all told me to take them down but i sucked it up and started...
I think it all depends on preference. Some people use that expensive biogravel stuff but I just use regular gravel and my plants grow amazingly well... in a goldfish tank no less! lol. I used sand for a little while too but IMO it's just too messy.
