If you want to stay south american then you still have alot of variety.
I cant think of a suggestion for a center piece fish but you could add some cories for your lower section and add some hatchet fish to add activity to the top of the tank.
You could also always add a school of cardinal...
Yea I don't get paid until next week so ill take the filter out and put it back in my main tank. Besides I dont think I need a filter for just plants.
Next week I'll put the filter back in the 10g and I'll go ahead and stock with Cardinal tetras and a few cherry shrimp or amano shrimp, maybe...
Thank you for letting me keep my non-existent fish keeping reputation lol
Btw, on a side note, since I added a filter from my 60g which is well colonized with beneficial bacteria, will I be able to add fish immediately?
I just set-up a new 10g for an attempt at my first planted tank.
I took one of the filters off of one of my 60g tanks and put it on the 10g and reduced the water flow as to not create too much water flow (its a Whisper 20-40)
I already bought a Marimo Moss Ball and just a simple anacharis for...
Ok so as the title says, I can't get this green algae off of my glass.
I just did a 75% WC, and tried to get the algae off by scraping it in all kinds of ways, first with a regular piece of cloth then I just used my nails to scratch it off but nothing.
I've never had algae this tough before...
Cycling is no biggy for me. And yes thats exactly what I have done for many times in the past when setting up a new tank. The cycling process is soooo long and can easily be avoided when you already have established tanks lol
If your reason for switching to africans is because south americans are too aggressive then its not a good choice.
Africans are far more aggressive, but if all you want is africans then no biggy, you can keep them in fairly large numbers, not because you can but you NEED to. When there are...
Ive never really been a fan of getting a monster tank, but now that I got this future giant Im kinda warming up to the idea lol. But I wont think of that until later.
The plan for right now would be to get a 120+ maybe 180 if I keep getting some good pay checks. If I can't get this all going...
Ive never really buffered my water to an specific species, I just have everyone in my plain ol las vegas water. Its not like they need it to thrive when they are all farm raised fish, but if I were to ever acquire a wild caught fish then yes I would attempt to simulate their wild habitat as...
No worries, I put him in with my malawi tank, they are all still less then 3" so he will be ok in that tank for now. Hes been in there for about an hour now and no one even gets close to him at all.
And thanks for the info guys.
Ok so I went into my lfs today to pick up a variety of fish food, when I noticed this 4 in. Lima Shovelnose cat, and it was in a tank where it was being picked on by a variety of larger fish and I knew if it stayed in that tank any longer it was going to be a goner =(
So, i just had to get...
GBRs no doubt
although they are hard to find good stock, and Gold rams tend to be tank bred on most online vendors.
But GBRs are just too beautiful to think otherwise.
Hmmm, thats a tough one, it could be either. But im sorta leaning towards the gourami.
Were the lights on or off? If they were on I would say the gourami as raphael cats are timid when the lights are on and dont tend to seek for food until the lights are off.
