Well it finally happened...

Nitrite = 0ppm
Nitrate = somewhere between 0ppm and 5.0ppm

So I will test on Saturday to make sure things stabilized and then I can finally get some fish.

Do I do a water change before I put fish in tomorrow?

You can but if your numbers stay the same, it is not required. I would go ahead and have some water mixed though.

Glad it finally cycled for you.

Take it slow. You don't have a lot of buffer so it would be best to just add one fish if possible. Corals and inverts won't slam your bioload like fish so you can add those as well. Might hold off on shrimp for a little while longer but corals, crabs, snails, etc. are all ok.

Ok, I'll see what the LFS has and go from there. What do I need to add for snails? My tank is crystal clear and hasn't had any algae growth or anything for that matter so I don't know what they would be able to eat. I'll probably get a neon goby or emerald crab this weekend and see how things go.

I'd avoid turbo snails in that size tank with no algae, a couple each of nerites, nassarus's, ceriths, and dwarf hermits.

I'll probably do a 20% water change to bring the ph back up to 8 from 7.8 and then get a neon goby and a couple small hermits on Saturday to start things out with.

Emerald crabs also require a good amount of algae. I had a pair that cleaned my 40 breeder in no time at all.

Probably hold off on the emerald and go for a more peaceful crab like a porcelain.
