The only thing with them is that I would like to keep more than two adults. Is that possible?
It can be? Thats the best answer I can give you. In my 150 gallon, I have three generations, but they are all from the same descendent parents. Plus, 150 gallons is a lot more space than 30 gallons. I never see my brichardi fight with each other, so the best thing I could say to try is to start with a pair, then let them have their way with each other. If you get a ew more adults in there with no problems then all is well, but if you start to see some conspefic aggression, then get rid of the new adults. Trial and error, trial and error.

If I get those, I might try that.
I just have one quick question. I have to get rid of the breeding pair of firemouths and the green severum. All three are at about half of their full grown size. How much should I expect to recieve for them at the LFS?

Returning to the N. multifasciatus (which are my favorites for a tank 30" long): I thought your 30gal was a 3 feet one; then, it should be better to start with 8 and not ten; to leave space for the fry to grow. They are the smallest known cichlids, but their attitude is great!

How are they with things like barbs and loaches that stay higher in the tank?

I don't think bottom dwellers as loaches are a good idea. Barbs or even better zebra danios or Praecox rainbows, can be used as good dither fishes; but always keep an eye on them in case aggression from the breeder multis appears.

I don't mean to butt in,but if it isn't 36",then it isn't a 30 gallon.It sounds like a 20 long to me.What are the exact dimensions of it?

I may put the loaches in the ten, but I doubt that there will be problems because the loaches spend a lot of time at the surface. We'll see.

The dimensions are roughly 30 by 12.5 by 18.5. I used a calculator and figured out that it is 30.

I used a calculator from other forum, and it is an uncommon 30gal tank.

That's what I did. It is a little wierd. It's not a tall by any means, but it doesn't take up the entire stand.

Yes, the most common 30gal is 36 inches (3') long.
