Maybe it was 4 inches when your friend put it into the pond last spring. Fish grow really fast in outdoor ponds, or at least that has been my experience. Hope you don't have a lot of live plants in your tank. Going to need a lot of algae wafers.
My mother-in law has common sailfins in an outdoor pond, during the winter, but this is in southern california and the lowest temps are 60F.so that pleco just came out of the pond now? how low of a temp can common/sailfins handle?
i know fancier varietys are strickly tropical but i hear the above two are able to handle low 60's...can they go lower?
Thats what she said...Sure, its 11 inches now, but when it gets cold, it shrinks up to about 4...
