From what I know they do pretty well. I've actually recaptured one's I've released in the past before. When they're young they're very secretive and there's actually not a whole lot of info on them dealing with their first few years of life in the wild. They basically do their best to stay hidden from predators and they do it very well. Reptiles are already programed to know how to survive in the wild for the most part. Box Turtles are very carnivorous and this turtle knows how to chase down bugs really well. It's fun to watch him run down crickets and dubia roaches! It would have no problem surviving in the wild if I was to release it right now.
