There are a couple of small tiger beetle species that range into southern BC where I live, but they seem to be really rare. Hopefully I'll see/photograph one some day. Have you tried keeping one in captivity?

I hope you run into some. I know they like areas with sandy soil and plenty of food to eat. I've never tried keeping one and I don't know how well they'd do in captivity since they're so active. They do a LOT of running and flying around.

Actually, it sounds like it would be fun just to rear some larva!
