you have no bacteria in your tank if you just got the sand. now you need lr, and a dead shrimp to start yer cycle.

I agree, you just replaced the substrate, the bacteria lives on the surfaces.

there is no shortcut. there is no half-assed substitution for setting up a tank properly.

this will take time. the more patient you are, and the more time you take to set this tank up properly, the more rewarding the result wil be young pan-wan.

if you try to rush it, if you try to take shortcuts, you will fail, your fish and tank will die, and you will be forever frustrated.

this hobby is not about instant gratification
