If you are doing a fishless cycle, why are you doing water changes? When I did my fishless cycling I did water changes when I added to much ammonia (oops) or when test results were to high to measure.

If you like you can check out the thread a started when I began my 20 gallon high tank.

I started adding ammonia the 10th post down:

Hope my UPs and downs help you with your fishless cycling :)

jpappy789, When I first started the cycle, I accidentally added too much ammonia. I did not add anymore after that. I did water changes to fix that, but it had stayed the same. So, I do NOT add ammonia whenever I change the water.

PattyCakes81, Again, I am doing water changes because I accidentally added too much ammonia in the beginning.

PattyCakes81, I am glad you were able to cycle your fish tank. Hopefully, I will be able to cycle mine. :shakehead:
Okay! I did a water change, and it's dropped back to 4 PPM! I'm going to keep my fingers crossed! :grinno:
I know what you mean I over dosed several times.:(
Good luck on your fishless cycle.
