Im looking for a sword plant as my center piece for my 20 high. I have about 1.5 watts per gallon No co2 but i have root tabs in there. Will an amazon work or will it take over the whole tank?

how tall is the tank? an amazon sword would do ok if the tank is tall enough. i have two of these swords in a standard 55 gal and the tops of the leaves reach the water surface. they will not 'take over the tank' but if you happen to have a mother plant it will make baby plantlets.

there are plenty of different types of swords that would work well in your tank and not get too big. rose swords, red melons, bleheri...... too many to mention! lol.

check out http://www.tropica.com/plants/plant-list-a-z.aspx and scroll down to the echinodorus plants. lots to choose from!

Most sword (Echinodorus) grows fairly big (20+ inches). The only two that I can think of that is smaller is Tenellus (which is really small at about 3-4 inches) or Rubin which grows to about 12".
