THe change was over several hours-

I think my severum didn't like all the salt.
Or is getting ich.

I don't know what medication the dragon can handle.

Drastic changes in water temp are generally the cause of ick. Try to keep the temp a constant! Don't cook your fish, medicate them appropriately.
I have been treating ich this way for over 25 years. I don't mean to pour boiling water into your tank, just turn up the heater up, until your tank gets warmer. I have keep them at 86 degrees for 21 days ( the life cycle of the parasite). Scale less fish are very sensitive to meds.

You can read my article on ich here: http://puffer.proboards2.com/index.cgi?board=hospital&action=display&num=1086103674

pufferpunk-

I'm on my way to buy The dragon a new tank.
And create a suitable home.

Any suggestions as far as just taking some of the water he's in and some gravel to cycle the tank.
OR GET him OUT asap?

Leave him in FW tank until new tank is cycled or NO?

...with the bacteria from the gravel should be ok?

Ok-
I did get him a temp. 10 gallon home set up.
*Until I find a good 55 gallon.

Substrate- aragonite
Marine salt- mixed 1/4 cup to gallon
hydrometer- have no idea how to use?
HOB- bio filter

What other water conditioners do I use?
don't have chlorine in h2o- (well water)

Stress Coat?

How do I acclimate him from FW to BW?

But for how long do you keep them in each? Did they live out their whole lives? How many years?

The Gobioides grahamae which is a type of dragon goby can be acclimated from BW to SW. The other types, Gobioides broussonnetii (most common) and Gobioides peruanus are strictly brackish.

I have tried keeping them in FW before as well and the longest one lasted around 7 months. This is when I decided to do a brackish tank for my 4 VG's.

How long did you keep yours in FW?
