but yes, I have trouble keeping them alive longer than about 3 months. I gave up on them now and don't want to kill any more. I think some of it has to do with the fact that (please correct me if I'm wrong) most oto's are wild-caught and they use cyanide to slow them down, because if you've ever tried to catch one, you know they're fast little buggers. anyway this causes liver damage and they die in a few months, most of them... I read it on a webpage somewhere... I might be wrong.
I bought a total of 13 about 2 weeks ago. One died before I got home. I have just taken them out of quarentine and am down to eight. Hopefully, the rest will survive; however, if they die I wil probably not know about it as they are sure to get eaten.
