Problem with stopping at 55 my fish would eat there last meal sometime in late Sept. early Oct. That leaves 5 months for them to live on what has been stored over the summer. I'm sure there is plenty of algae and micro fauna for them to graze, but I like to go a little later in the season. Water temps. will go from 65+ during the day and drop to 50's at night. When the winter turn down begins, I usually only feed during the day when temps. are up and the fish are active.
