Would you feel safe putting a 40g breeder on an upper floor?

I'm a little nervous about it. It's either that or a 30g long. Personally I would much rather put the 40g. But the spot is in the middle of a room - not near any load bearing walls. I've heard that most houses will easily handle up to a 55g on an upper floor. Your thoughts?

The person I bought my 90 gallon off of, had it upstairs in the middle of the living room. You should definately have no problems witha 40 gallon. That's only rought 450 lbs after gravel and water and such. I weigh over 200 and have no problems walking around upstairs without worry lol

Interesting to have a 90g upstairs! And I'm nervous about 40!

One thing though - walking around isn't the same thing as many months or years of constant weight in one spot. That is my concern.

I have a 75 upstairs in a house that is over 100 years old. It has been up for about 8 months with no ill effects. DO IT!!!!:evil_lol:

I don't think that's a problem. Where I live in the northeast, most people have basements, so unless you put the tank in the basement, it's on an "upper" floor.
