hi all,
here's my 30gal FO setup.
for now, I'll let the PH settle over the week. I should be starting the cycle next week.
sorry I have no pics for now, I took some pics yesterday with my cell phone....but they're kinda crappy. I'll try again later.
I have old quipement, but it's proven and very reliable.
30gal tank
wet/dry hangon filter
aquaclear 300 filter
aquaclear 800 powerhead
heater (don't remember what kind, but it's reliable)
sand
dead rocks
I plan on purchasing a UV filter and upgrading my lighting equipment. other than that, I think I'm OK. I've had the same setup before in a FO with success.
the wet/dry has 3 stages. first stage is where the water from the tank comes in. my heater is located is that stage. then, the water overflows in the second stage. igoes through a compartment that has a PÜRA filtration pad. then it dripples through a carbon bag and finally it dripples through a Eheim substrat Pro small bio balls. after it dripples to the bottom of the filter where the water is pumped back to the tank.
in the aquaclear 330 filter, I have a bag of carbon and another bag of Eheim Substrat.
the powerhead is one corner, providing losts of water movement...especially at the surface. I read somewhere, surface movement is important.
