hi all,

here's my 30gal FO setup.
for now, I'll let the PH settle over the week. I should be starting the cycle next week.
sorry I have no pics for now, I took some pics yesterday with my cell phone....but they're kinda crappy. I'll try again later.

I have old quipement, but it's proven and very reliable. :)
30gal tank
wet/dry hangon filter
aquaclear 300 filter
aquaclear 800 powerhead
heater (don't remember what kind, but it's reliable)
sand
dead rocks
I plan on purchasing a UV filter and upgrading my lighting equipment. other than that, I think I'm OK. I've had the same setup before in a FO with success.
the wet/dry has 3 stages. first stage is where the water from the tank comes in. my heater is located is that stage. then, the water overflows in the second stage. igoes through a compartment that has a PÜRA filtration pad. then it dripples through a carbon bag and finally it dripples through a Eheim substrat Pro small bio balls. after it dripples to the bottom of the filter where the water is pumped back to the tank.
in the aquaclear 330 filter, I have a bag of carbon and another bag of Eheim Substrat.
the powerhead is one corner, providing losts of water movement...especially at the surface. I read somewhere, surface movement is important.

Welcome to the site. What are you planning stocking the tank with?

thanx Grins

clowns, damsels, firefish, Poorman's Moorish Idol. dwarf angelfish? maybe a bicolor anglefish. they have 2 bicolors at the LFS and the'yre very healthy and eating.
I haven't really made up my mind yet.

You'll want to check into the minimum tank sizes of a few of those. The Schooling Bannerfish for example needs lots of swimming room, I think 100g is often suggested. I'd skip the damsels as well, they'll terrorize if not kill other tank inhabitants.

yeah, I heard about those damsels being territory and all.

I hope you keep us up to date with your tank log. Lots are curious about tanks your size and the more they can learn from your experiences the better. Plus...well, we love pictures around here.

yeppp, will do sir

I'll try again later on today to take better pics. but, a cell phone isn't the best

took some quick pics with my cell phone, crappy quality...but it gives an idea of what my tank looks like for now. I might rearrange the rocks before it's all said and done.
