I have a pet peeve about how the only two LFS that carry saltwater bag my fish..And it could just be me,,maybe pet stores do this and I am just not aware of it so I just wanna know..
I feel so sorry for the fish that I buy because when I pick the one I wont. The girl it is always a girl at either store gets that plastic box they use,,anyhow she fills it with water and then hangs it on the tank and catches my fish and put him in the box..
She them gets a bag opens it and pours my fish ,water and all in the bag and the spins the bag to twist the top and adds a rubber band.
I feel so bad for them because they are poured like that and then on a roller coaster ride,,you just know that has to be stressful..After I accumulate my fish I don't just pour them in I catch them and ease them in the water and allow them to swim from the net..Am I just being silly?lol

That is how all the stores I deal with do it, with the only change is the ones I deal with fill the bag with oxygen prior to tying closed.

I agree that stress will be induced no matter how they do it..it seems to me that they are so rough with the first.I mean when they spin that bag the poor fish just keeps on spinning after it stops.I may just be silly but even on the way home I have to hold them and if we hit a bump I lift the bag so they aren't jarred to much and I wont take them unless they are put in a paper bag,,I heard that causes less stress if the fish can't see..
I have caught fish from my fresh tank and I always fill the bag and then net the fish and add it to the bag with the net..Like i said it may be silly it is just a pet peeve of mine and I have many..lol

Similiar...they use the acrylic capture box to get the fish, then pour the fish and water in the bag and then twist a bit and tie it off. Most double bag as well.

I saw one store (a large chain we've all heard of) where two young kids were running the fish department that day and someone was getting a yellow tang. These two kids were chasing the thing in a 120g tank with an itty bitty net ..and not a fine mesh. Poor fish.

lol i do the same with my fish in the car ride home. but speaking first hand from bagging fish you have to consider people expect their fish quick(like most things noadays) and also after bagging about 20-30 fish a day u just dont have it in you to take the 20 mins it would take to bag them slowly. also the spinning is need to close the bag and keep in the vital oxygen...if done slow the oxygen will escape and the bag deflate...trust me ive done it many times lol....all i can say is there are worse things people do to fish...like this guy last week who got a huge clown trigger for his community reef in his 50 gallon...it killed all his fish and then died.....so yea some stores try to be careful but some just dont care. but the little swirl in the bag is far less stressful then them being captured on a reef, netted, shipped, bagged, shipped again, put in a wholesale , netted shipped and then to the store so on...

Well I am glad to know I am not the only one who does that..lol.I do understand that people wont everything fast It is just a pet peeve of mine I guess. If they would let me catch and bag my fish I would..lol.Lets just say I am so glad I am not a fish..And my fish are pampered maybe to much.
Wow I bet that guy was not happy at all,,to buy a fish you like and it kill everything you have and then have the nerve to die to..LOL..That alone would make me mad..lol

LOL..some people never listen..My picasso trigger is sooo spoiled I think that is why he has never bothered and thing in my tank..If he wonts a snack during the day he will pick up empty shells and throw them to get my attention and the swims from side to side all excited like a dog when i go near the tank..He is by far my favorite..lol

My LFS takes the bag, and puts it in the plastic cup thingy, then fills the bag with water, then rubberbands it
