Everything was fine yesterday with ammonia level of .25 which is pretty good and the fish seem fine...I WAKE UP AND my regular female GUPPY IS DEAD stuck to filter intake...and now my angel fish will not eat, he will swim right up to the food but not eat it, he looks like he is hungry, but just wont eat. Whats wrong, could it be from the guppy dieing? What do I need to do?

You really need to upgrade this tank or get rid of some of these fish, your ammonia is going to become out of control if your not doing water changes every day and your fish will become stunted

He is cycling a tank, and has all of these fish in a 10G tank... :(

"What do I need to do?"

1st, Monitor your water 2-3 times a day to ensure that you maintain your ammonia and nitrIte toxicity readings well below 0.25ppm. Angels in particular do not do well in a cycling tank, and even this may be pushing it.

2nd, return some fish if at all possible.

3rd, stop getting new fish to replace the ones you loose/return

4th, you really need to provide the answer to the questions everyone keeps asking you:

Water readings - What were they when you discovered the dead guppy? How are they currently? How often do you test (The toxins can easily spike to 4, 5, or even 6x what they currently read in 8-12 hours time especially given the amount of fish present), etc.

...and properly responding to the advice being provided and act upon it (I can only say we have the fish's best interests in mind, not necessarily yours sorry :()

EDIT: Sorry for being so direct, but I'm getting frustrated in seeing the same questions being asked, and the results predicted by many of us come to fruition a day ro two later...

Sorry you guy's I just want the best for my fish even though you may not think so...I omit rushing in this and putting fish into harm...and I have been checking my ammonia levels and its been between 0-.25 (its hard to tell between the color code)...I am using the API Ammonia test kit...I guess I need to Search the topic first before posting :(...sorry all

You probably dont wont to hear this but my angelfish died today also...everything seem to be fine until this morning...thats makes two fish dead since this morning...my ammonia level is still between 0-.25

sorry again all

Have you checked all of your other water parameters???? Everything is important when you are cycling.

Everyone is trying to help, not be able to say "told ya so"... good advice is given.

I am doing a water change right now. And another one has died within the last 2 hours...sorry guys I should have listen to yall...I only have a a ammonia tester and a ph tester by api...my ammonia level is still between 0-.25 and my ph is high its around 7.5 :( is that why they are dying?
