my oscar has white poop

The stringy white poop hanging off it is because of internal parasites. I had the exact same situation with my convict cichlid. It was easier for me to treat it though because I was able to put it in a 10 gallon tank. I don't know if you can do that. I used Jungle Parasite clear, and after about 3 days he was healthy and ready to move back to his home. He's doing fine ever since.

I recommend treating any sick fish longer than 3 days no matter whats wrong with the fish. Any time I have to treat any of my fish I treat them for 2 weeks minimum, this insures the fish will be healthy and able to be returned back to the original tank they came out of, and it also insures that none of my other fish have a possability(sp) of getting sick.

Especially if it concerns white poo. White poo again is a sign of intestinal parasites in the fish. Any time a fish has white poo, I recommend treating the entire tank with such meds as Pimafix which treats 95% of internal and external parasites in/on fish. I use Pimafix for all of my fish and any parasites they may have. Although Pimafix SHOULD NOT be used with any invertibrates, snails, pretty much anything with a shell on it, this is due to Pimafix can kill them.

Actually white stringy poo is often a sign of internal parasites, Pimafix is a great medication that will help to treat this issue. Normally white stringy poo doesnt come after treatment, it's normally a sign that something is wrong in the intestines of the fish. It could be something with what you're feeding him, it could be something such a decor or gravel that may of had something in it/on it that could of gotten him sick.

My 7" EBJD had white poo after I got him, and I treated him with Pimafix and it cleared him right out, and now's he is doing fine.

No matter what your results show Pimafix has no effect on internal parasites. The Jungle brand Parasite Clear is cheap and works well.

Pimafix treats fungal infections and both internal and external bacterial infections.

Melafix heals open wounds & abrasions, treats fin and tail rot, eye cloud, mouth fungus and promotes regrowth of damaged fin rays & tissue.

Neither treats internal or external parasites.

i guess i did

is it acting normally otherwise? did you feed anything unusual?
its acting normal, when i come to my tank and tap on the lid he comes and goes to his corner with his friend (albino tiger oscar(who i havn't seen any poop hanging off of yet)) they both eat and its all good but the worst thing i could have fed him is a common black housefly.
