How to do a drip method when introducing new fish? NEON TETRAS ESPECIALLY

I think my neons have NTD already, they are starting to loose color again,
If I were you, don't jump to conclusions thinking that it was NTD. NTD can be mistaken with columnaris. They could be losing colors simply due to slight stress.

I'll have to look up columnaris, since I don't know what that is.

if you want to see a tutprial on driip acclimation
go to
www.saltwaterfish.com

drip acclimation here is over several hours it helps slowly get the temp right and allows for changes in pH.

in many cases this much time may not be needed..

are you dropping the fish directly into the maintank? not qt?

I'm going to put them in the tank now. 5 hrs is nuts, I'll try 2.5.
lol. The only reason I had done it over 5-6 hours was because I set up the drip and jsut went about my day. there was enough room that I didn't have to worry about overflow and after that long I knew there was no issue of the water paramaters not matchin gthe tank since by that point it was way more tank water than original lfs water.

Thanks for the tutorial!

Directly to the maintank ya. I know I should qt for a few weeks, thats why I'm setting up my 20L today for that.

They seem to be doing okay now. A lil discoloration but not as much as last night. I did a water change last night cause I put a lil too much pimafix in there. Hopefully they'll make it thru the week! Lost two angels though, one's still kickin (doin ok).

I see you live in Fairfield county. Any good fish places you would recommend? I'm only 45 minutes or so away in Westchester, but I have a buddy that goes to Fairfield.

The only one I recommend is The Norwalk Aquarium, on West Ave, in Norwalk, CT. If and when you go, ask for Peter. He's the most knowledgeable one. He knows practically everything. 37 years in one location. Still in business. That should say a lot.

Tell him Marc sent you. He knows me well...

Hahaha, actually I see my 90G setup that I bought from him over a year ago in this pic. That's it!

i got kuhli loaches and a power head the power head came with a little air hose and a little rolling clamp thing i took some longer black air hose i had laying around and used a magna float to secure it to the tank with the clamp on it i tighted it until it was just dripping.

Marc you did a great job with the video. The neons are a hard fish for many people to keep.
