Yes it's a DIY hood and I'm not entirely happy with it - needs a bit of work!
Heres a photo as requested and an update with a piece of driftwood and some crash-test-pilot mollies included. The driftwood keeps the waterfall from splashing onto the front glass. The plywood hood sections around the globes were put in to keep the light "focussed" on the center and give the outer edges some dark space. The piece in the middle is a slide-open hatch for feeding.
