55 Gallon with 2 fluval 205 canister filters? And about my Flowerhorn Blood parrot

I am currently using my one 205 fluval canister filter and I have been thinking seriously about getting another one to increase better water quality in my 55 gallon. Is that too much? Or will it do better? What are the benefits of having 2 of these canisters? I'm guessing no more frequent water changes? Fish is more prone to be more healthier and live longer? That way can I be able to put in discus fish into my tank? :)

Anyway my fish

2 Silver dollars 3 inches had them for about 1 year and a few months. They were like 1 inch when i bought them.
2 Blood red parrots 3 inches
1 Flowerhorn Blood parrot 3 inches
1 Yellow light Angelfish 1 inch
1 Golden Chinese algae eater 3 inches


Ornaments & Decorations

Driftwood
Black gray sand substrate
2 clumps of rocks with fake plants behind it
Rena 400 for aeration


I have been thinking about removing my Flowerhorn blood parrot because it's actually rather somewhat aggressive, not super abusive, he's just a pushover whatever that gets in his way and he just loves to look and go for a pursuit after any kind of fish passes his eyes(sometimes it all depends on his mood;he has mood swings i tell ya...) (Flowerhorn parrot: Hey whatre you lookin at? *chase for a few seconds* Hmph! thats right. outta my face...*) He's acting conceded :headshake2: I might sell him or something to my LFS. I regret buying him now sigh, But you know, he's actually the reason I decided to get the 55 gallon so i guess i kinda owe that little guy; but the little guy is really the pursuitsive type of fish, and i cant stand those kind of fish when i have peaceful fish. the chinese algae eater fish too, is a little sneaky slime coat eating basterd >_<. I plan to remove those two and add 2 discus and 1 blue bristlenose pleco. As for the angelfish, I do once in a while seem to see him rather plucking my silver dollars sides a little bit too, days and days ago....IT'S AGGRESSION I TELL YA :angryfire:. But the most aggression ive gotten is the flowerhorn and eventually the chinese algae eater once he goes adult size :headshake2:.

SO YEAH about the filters.. :grinyes:

IMO, you cant have too much filtration, so adding another filter will do well. I had a highly stocked 55 worse than yours, and had a penguin 330, fluval magnum, and undergravel.


I would warn you to just be wary of the flowerhorn, I bought one and thought if it was small enough that it wouldnt get too aggressive. I started to notice that my bala sharks were starting to get beat up and a couple of my catfish. Watched and watched discovered it was the flowerhorn. Decided i liked my other fish a little more than him.

They are very pretty but sadly enough it is one of those fish where you have to decide whether you want a single fish or many fish. And i know many people keep their flowerhorns with other fish, so dont flame me just yet. But the slightest aggression could get worse over time, so be sure to keep an eye on it. And if you decide to get rid of it, sell it dont give it to the fish store, i gave mine to the fish store and they turned around and sold it for $40.

I bought mine for like.. 30 or 40 dollars And i'll be sure to observe my flowerhorn blood parrot from now on
 
This is my 55 gallon tank. I know i know, not the best looking tank... I need some aquatic plants;thats what i need ^_^ I plan to remove my plastic plants .

Unfortunately, somethings wrong with one of my silver dollars at the moment, just seen this in the morning, I think it's because i mightve stressed it accidentally when I decided to turn the lights on my room, and immediately turn the 55 gal tank light on without thinking -_- the two panicked and paced all around my tank like torpedoes x_x scratching their slime coats on the rocks uncaringly. I have one silver dollar that would easily get startled and panick like crazy, that's my other silver dollar and he's gotten his coat a little messed up right now. The problem I'm seeing is that his/her slime coat seems to be somewhat kinda teared-looking white color(no biggie, like blood or w/e dripping out ¬_¬); immediately upon seeing this, i poured down 20 ml of NovAqua water conditioner and 20 ml of melafix to help him/her develop back his/her slime coat. Hopefully he/she gets better in a few days. According to the tank conditions, water's pretty much unstressful, aerated well, and the water parameters are good etc. I think he/she and can probably recover easily within a few days. I just fed all of them stabilized vitamin C bloodworms.

My flowerhorn cost me 7.99 at petsmart, got it before they realized they werent selling what they thought they were. Got it at 1.5", and gave it away at around 4". So i was alittle miffed about it. But you live and learn.

I must have misread it. I didnt realize that it was a flowerhorn x parrot. Thats cool, always wanted one of those. Havent really heard about the aggression on these guys, still kinda new. but cichlids will be cichlids.

Heat's at 79, but the water is still kinda cold. I think ill heat it up..how do u know?? :devil:

I know FH's are aggressive but this is a hybrid I'm talking about not the real Fh. Flowerhorn blood red parrot fish. It's actually not too aggressive, He's just a pushover sometimes and it all depends. He doesn't bother my Angel so much, sp dun judge dude :uhoh: Anyway a little crowded???AHH im gonna explode dude! I bought it thinking it was a 40 gallon and thought it was good enough then i was mistakened it is actually a 55 gallon and i was happily surprised and now whaa little crowded?! ahHhHhh
