Thanks guys(and gals)..I am thinking along the lines of a PACU too! ill keep everyone posted with pics every few months!

Cute "little" thang--I agree, pacu. Deff not silver dollar. What size does Teacup ray get? Teacup?

yes Teacup sting ray! approx the size of a basketball! if not bigger..lol..i got to deal with this monster first! LOL

pacu!

55 is too small for the pacu when full grown, and much too small for even a teacup ray.

you're on to something though, good reason to upgrade!

ok thanks!..gosh they look alike

there are several key differences between "silver dollar" species and a true pacu.

a few of the obvious ones:

1. pacus are much stockier (thicker fish) even as babies

2. the mouth of a pacu is much larger than any silver dollar

3. the caudal fin of a pacu is larger in proportion to its body size

4. the shape is slightly different.

5. pretty much all baby pacus will have red on the body and a red anal fin, although this disappears with growing size
