Ya know... it seems like something is just not right and I think you hit on it Bob. Also the fact that it's 4 pieces and not 3 or 5. Odd numbers work better I think and I have to consider the golden ratio of 1.6 to 1 as far as placement of the central piece as well. I like driftwood a lot and love to see it in a tank but I think in this case there is just a little too much. I'm gonna go back to the drawing board and see what I can come up with.
I took out the far left piece and shifted the middle piece over to the left. I think this arrangement is a bit better than the first one and with plants will work out better. Ideas?
I would move the center piece maybe even 2-3" more left, make the right end a bit higher, and angle the right hand piece toward the middle of the tank, I think. Hard to sell what it'll look like once there's plants in it though.
