How do you make your footprint lighter?

Look up some research on LEDs and what they are made of....unless you changed the entire power grid, they won't feed our demands....

i recycle 98% of all my household garbage, glass, plastic, and cans, tin& aluminum, whats left i burn ....i'm out in the country..btw..i don't get new paper so its only junk mail..
the local dairy collects the news papers and shredds them for cow bedding..:grinyes:

What have I done?
I own two Toyota Prius
I Use Flouresent bulbs for all lighting
I use biodegradeable cleaning detergents
I just had a rinnai installed, that's the tankless hot water system for those of you who didn't know.
UMMM, think that's it.

no recycling?

I have to side with the skeptics here. There always seems to be a collective anxiety over issues that concern our mortality and future. The media, and poor unsubstantiated science only egg on the frenzy.

125gjoe posted an interesting link about our environmental hysteria a few months ago. I'll see if I can find it to post here. Hopefully Joe will see this and post it first. ;)

While I do appreciate our environment, I don't find it necessary to go out of my way practicing "green living."

I won't litter. I'll use a cheaper, more efficient fuel source if available. I'll toss my can in the recycling bin if one is available, but at the same time, I'll happily drill for oil in my backyard in spite of the pretty landscape around me.

my thoguhts exactly. . .

As with anything else, any extreme is bad...

Happy Earth Day BTW!!!

i am all for carbon offsetting.
i offset the huge tax hikes brought in by my goverment in the name of global warming by driving my BMW faster and harder to get my moneys worth out of the $9 per gal fuel costs.

I am sparking incentive by the unrevealed brilliant engineers out there. I plan on using up more than my share of gas so it forces a desire to develop new power sources. Sometimes I run the downstairs system on heat and the upstairs one on AC.

And I love Christmas with the fireplace insert going and AC on.
