Joined the Salty side: 20G Reef Log

Tested tonight and Nitrates are at 20, Ammonia and Nitrite are zero!

Cycled? CUC time?

Thanks CPD! I haven't done a WC yet so the NO3 shouldn't be a problem. I think I'm going to push it a bit (just because of the weekend and convenience) and add 3 Nas and 3 Astrias on Sat. Assuming the test results continue the way they are.

Ok, I finally added snails today after testing and doing a ~60% WC. Tests came out at 0/0/10 1.026 before the WC. I went for 3 Nas. & 3 Astrea, but wound up with an extra Astrea because of employee mistake. The Nas immediately burrowed and the Astreas are already munching. The tank has plenty of food for them since it looks like a brown and green tie dye algae party. Still a ton of pods. I'm hopimg to add my first "easy" coral in a couple weeks. :)

I have several planted FW tank logs posted. Please place the FW related posts there. This thread was supposed to be limited to my new SW tank. I tried to make that clear in the thread title. ;)

Wow! I have every right to respond to what someone said. Why would I go to a different thread and respond to nobody?

Anyways sounds like its making good progress.

Thanks for the input Eddie.

Congrats on the clean up crew! You're really off to a great start. Have you decided what your first coral is going to be yet? Oh, and you are always welcome to some frags of mine! My rhodactis are getting pretty out of control. ;)

Cool. I've been considering dabbling a bit myself someday. Not as much to have a salt water tank as there is this blennie, and he captured my heart. I still have a lot of research on salt water to do, and build my big tank first, but I dont think its out of the question for me either. Good job so far, cant wait to see some corals in that thing.
