In the summer time if it's typical hot NJ weather, by the time the water gets to my house it's been under the roads for a very long time. Cold water comes out of the tap in August perfect for my discus tank....84-86F. I have a heck of a time doing water changes on the other tanks that only run at 80F!:headshake2:

Ditto. I've been using hot water to even out the temperature for over 20 years now.

would you mind giving us your source for that information? if your hot water heater has that much crud in it i dont think id use it to shower with

I always use hot and cold to get the water just right for my tank.

I have also heard not to use hot water from the tap to drink or cook with. Just googled the subject and here is are some interesting webpages.
