yeah i did a double take on that myself.....read the ad real fast and yes it said NEW in the box fx5 and free shipping so just for the hell of it i clicked the buy it now it just had been listed for a few minutes and bought it. I got a email almost that instant from the seller saying this was a complete mistake blamed his wife for putting the wrong price suppose to have been 299.99 he said. He said he was trying to edit the error when I bought it. He then asked for my phone number so he could call and "discuss" this situtation. He had perfect feedbacks so I gave it to him he called right then. He said they were moving and his wife was listing alot of items on ebay and she made a error but if I insisted on him honoring the deal he would to avoid ebay getting involved and all that since he was trying to get a 2nd business selling stuff on ebay and didnt want bad feedback and whatever else might happen if he backed out. He was a really nice guy and his wife was all upset and crying in the background and I just didnt feel like being a A-hole since I believed them. I asked well is it still for sale he said yes and said he would sell it to me really cheap and I asked what "cheap" would be he said he got it as a gift at xmas and never set up the tank he bought to use it on and had already sold the tank because of the move and said how did 140.00 sound and he would pay 1/2 the postage. I asked him to relist it on ebay void the first auction and send me the link for buy it now at 155.00 including postage that way i am covered thru paypal if he doesnt send it. got to make sure you cover the bases when buying thru ebay. so he will mail it out monday morning and it should be here thursday. even at 155.00 that is still a great deal and he said he would throw in a few boxes for free of media he had for it. He left me a great feedback already for the deal and I will leave feedback for him as soon as I get it. Locally you cant find a FX5 for less than 299.99 so 1/2 price is a good deal to me.

wow, great find!!!!

hope it is good and there arnt any problems!

Good deal. If you ever get bubble wash continuously coming out like some have claimed, check the weight of the canister as the water level may have dropped down to the bottom because the purge timer isn't working and the canister has pumped air out of solution until its at the bottom washing into the pump. Turing the pump off will confirm this if it does a big air purge, then turning it back on should reset the timer. However if it ever fails you can use a simple off the shelf digital timer which will do the exact same thing if set to shut off for 2 minutes every 4 hours. I like every 4 hours instead of every 24 hours because at 24 hours the water level has dropped to about 50 % utilizing only 1/2 the sponge media. Every 4 hours only lets the water lever drop to a maximum of 2 inches. Why I probubly will disconnect the built in timer.

As an e-Bay coordinator for a small business, I have to say I sympathize with seller more than a lot of people would. That said, mistakes happen, and I'm glad everything worked out, even if you did insist on robbing them for a little bit. ;)

I think it was very nice of you to not push the $29.99! You still got a great deal too!!! Awesome all the way around for both of you.

Your Karma is shining!!! :y220e:
