Mafia 54:Vampires Return (The Play)

I vote to stick a stake into Annie; just a fairly random vote at this point, altho she (?) again seems to be just popping in to make a vote and that is all the contribution we get. This vote is subject to change as the day progresses.

Darn a Villager again. :y220d:

Yay! Good game everyone - except you nasty bloodsuckers!

Hey Ice...... what about JL + Zsand together on the player list?

Apart we are good players, but together we become a superplayer, kind of like Transformers with people but less flame paint job.

Love some of these.. I got some already, but one never knows how much is enough with this crowd.

Finally... a game where it's safe to admit we actually like garlic!!

Good to know our villiage has an idiot. ;) (I've often suspected as much.)

Okay, that's all fun but on with the game.... I basically suspect everyone at this point... of course. But I did look back at that previous vampire game Ice modded since he gave us the link and suggested it. I found it noteworthy to learn that he's known for hand-picking PR roles (of course that time he said it was random). Still with this in mind, I'm thinking he's chosen someone specific for the leading vamp role in this game. That person then gets to pick the second vampire..... then those two get to turn 2 more villagers into vampires over the first 2 days.

As I don't see this progression would really involve new or inexperienced players very much, I'm going to pay more attention and probably be more suspicious of the vets among us.

This is subject to change because a lot is bound to happen before nightfall, but for now...

I vote to drive a stake into Zsandman.

OMGUS WIFOM and some other acronyms
I vote to stick a stake in Kashta!

No reason other than I have to suspect someone who would vote for me so early when I am great Vamp fodder. AB+ by the way Kash if you have a taste for a certain vintage.

Why would someone vote for you if they're going to turn you? So, is this distancing already?

I vote to stake Zsand......

Don't care for any blood, but AB+ just really irks my sensibilities.....and stains my angel wings.

I don't like this talk of a dream team or hand picked roles.

I also don't like how being a veteran player somehow makes someone more of a suspect. Kash was evil her first game. Come to think of it I think I was evil my first time (which for the record I was very bad at and get lynched big time).

It is best for me to assume the roles are random and to learn from who voted for who and who has died and not focus on a bunch of what ifs.

I think the next game I mod I will make every newb mafia. I will also give them extra investigations! :p:

John doesn't like my theory. Correction: John doesn't like my theory A LOT! In fact, John doesn't like my theory so much that he's using it to portray me as EVIL -- for simply suggesting it.

Following are Ogre's only five post to date

Skipping that. There's nothing there that relates to my theory and it wasn't the point I made. This didn't come from Ogre and I haven't attributed it to Ogre.

Now here is Kashta's last post -

Skipping that too. They've seen it... they've read it. No need to re-quote the parts John quoted already.

Here is the part that bothers me - "Let's see, Ogre said that in reply to my theory that the 2 vamps we're dealing with (so far) are probably both vets at playing this game."

Here it is. This is the "twist" or point of misunderstanding where John went off on his merry way to another whole direction.

Since this is the part that bothers John so much, I'll break it down:

1. "Ogre said that" <-- The "that" part is what Ogre said. I used the word "that" in reference to the statement Ogre posted.

2. "in reply to my theory" <-- The "my theory" part is what I continued to restate using the remaining words in that sentence.

3. What was my theory? <-- The rest of that sentence highlighted in red, which reads: "...that the 2 vamps we're dealing with (so far) are probably both vets at playing this game."

So... I told Jpappy that Ogre said (what he posted) in reply to my theory (see #3 above).

Now maybe I missed and maybe I am skimming, but I just don't see Ogre making that reply. This really looks like Kash putting words in Ogre's mouth.

This really bothers me and I would like to know why Kash put this back on Ogre when all he said (in response to her) was "You know, I could actually see this."

This really bothers me and I feel much better about my vote on Kash. My joke vote on noods from game 53 proved to be on evil and I think this joke vote is also on evil.

"I just don't see Ogre making that reply" <-- That statement is correct. Ogre didn't say those words... I did. I wasn't putting those words in his mouth, I was stating my own idea.

Here is the post that Ogre "agreed" with -

Also here is a quote from Ice at the end of the vampires 17 -

No need for these posts again. That's not John's question. And yes.. Ice told people after Game 17 was over that the roles were assigned randomly. No point of disagreement there, John.

I would like to know where Kash "found it noteworthy to learn that he's known for hand-picking PR roles."? I know mods are accused of this, but Ice clearly stated after the game that is was random. She made it look like she found her new found knowledge in vampires 17, but I am not sure how when she even states that Ice claimed that is was random. I don't think Ice would lie about this.

Okay, John. You want to know where I found out that Ice is well known for picking PR roles....... so I'll show you (see below). First, here's a summary.

1. Vampire 17 was not the first vampire game Ice modded using the same format they had then and that we have now. This was something I didn't know before I read about it in the game 17 thread.

2. In a game previous to vampire #17 (which was also modded by Ice).. Ice did in fact hand-pick the Lead Vampire's role himself. Rbishop was the Lead Vampire in that game and he was chosen (by Ice) for the role because Rbishop had modded previous mafia games before. This turned out to be a problem, apparently, because Rbishop was also the first person who was investigated by the Seer. Ice admitted afterward that he hand-picked the Lead Vampire role himself. It was not assigned to Rbishop randomly.

3. When Ice modded vampire 17, the players all knew that Ice was known for hand-picking roles instead of assigning them at random. For this reason, they talked a lot about this fact. They also wondered if their roles were random or hand-picked in that game.

4. After game 17 was over... Ice posted that message (finally) to let those players know that their role assignments were done randomly..... "this time."

This misdirection and misinformation from Kash is fairly blatent. I hope others see this.

Now the vampires are hand picked, by the Lead Vampire. If you go back to vampires 17, the LV, clown-lover, was not an overly experienced veteran, but his turns were very good players. That game also had plenty of new players, but the LV picked strong experinced players.

You're not looking in the right places, John. The game 17 vampire was random, but in the previous game before that... it wasn't random. Ice chose the Lead Vampire role himself. It was while reading about this that I learned of this and yes.. I consider that "noteworthy."

Post 153: "In the Vampire game Ice Mod'ed last time I was the Seer. He later admitted he hand hand picked RB as the LV" ....went on to explain "RB was my first investigation."

Post 286: "I was kinda curious about Ice possibly picking a Mod as LV."

Post 308: "Hmmm, wouldn't that be kinda ironic if Ice made Jmax the LV of this game??"

You're really going to like this one, John. You were an innocent villager in vampire game 17.. this quote is one you posted yourself.

Post 347: "Something I have thought about, and I think about it almost every game, is how the roles were handed out. If the LV role was handpicked, would Ice give it to rbishop?"

These are real easy to paste in, so I'll continue. For anyone who doesn't want to go through them all..... just read the blue ones.

Post 352: "I am having doubts because of this defense and about my vote on rb because of what has already been said and agree that it would be something if roles were hand picked..."

Post 372: "I would just like to mention though, I don't think Ice would make RB, LV again this game so IF this theory is true I would have to say HN is the LV."

Post 377: "I simply agreed w/you that Ice might have made her lead vampire."

Post 378: "I don't think Ice would make RB lead vamp again, though."

Post 393: "If HN wasn't the LV, that would make it RB and I don't see Ice as making RB the LV again."

Post 438: "While I had started to believe Ice chose a newb for LV, it would not suprise me if he selected RB again as LV. He often employs reverse psychology and may have believed we would think it too obvious."

Post 441: "Was the role setting up done by random, or did ice pick? I think its usually done randomly, but whos to say it ACTUALLY is random? Know what i mean?"

Post 442: "Ice has stated several times he "hand picks" his roles, can't be sure about this game...but he has said that on several occasions."

Post 450: "If you weren't always skimming, you might have read about how Ice has hand picked the roles in the past."

Post 513: "On the issue of a hand picked LV, i dont believe Ice would give it to a newbie who has only play one, or no previous games, as its a role that i think is complex and needs some gaming experience to carry out...so, i shall be looking to someone with a little more experience for this role... "

Post 515: "And by the same token, if Ice chose a more experienced player as LV, then the LV is equally unlikely to choose a newb as an acomplice"

Post 518: "I do believe her to be Vamp..possible LV. She is for sure one I could see Ice "hand" picking."

Post 534: "I'm back and forth on RB being the LV. I can see Ice chosing him, but on the other hand I can see Ice selecting a newb for the role as well. I think the game was easier for me when I believed the roles were selected at random. "

Post 539: "And if the roles were hand picked I can only think of a couple of other choices that would fit into that mold.. "

Post 572: "I keep having Charlie's statement go through my head that ICE likes to hand pick rolls.. "

This comes from end of game post made by Ice.

Post 1466: "I want add that all roles were random this time."

Almost done, here's where John left off.

So let's not worry if who Ice picked for LV was random or not, I am fairly confident that it was random. What is more important is who would the LV want to turn first?

Again, I feel there's good reason to believe our roles THIS TIME were not all assigned randomly. Ice has done it before... several times, in fact. It's a reasonable possibility IMO that Ice picked the LV role himself.

I also believe it's possible that that he didn't. So it's important for us all to consider both theories.... whether veterans like JL likes it or not.
