Mafia 54:Vampires Return (The Play)

I don't get the reference since I don't know all those games. Curious what you mean about there being some concern about it still...... do you remember which game the "dreamteam" one was? Is that one Ice modded too?

I think what Ogre means is that there may have been a game (I dont remember exactly which) where the entire mafia team is made up of vets...granted, seeing as this is a team building format the only hand picking done by the mod would be the LV. Not sure why Ogre would bring this up though.

Let's see, Ogre said that in reply to my theory that the 2 vamps we're dealing with (so far) are probably both vets at playing this game. So I guess that reminded him of this "dream" mafia team game that was made up of vets... where the game fell apart. And yes, I would like to find that game eventually and at least browse through it. I also wish I had time to browse through a lot of old game threads. It would be interesting and helpful, I'm sure.

Anyway, if that's what we're facing in this vampire team-building format, then I hope we either catch on soon enough to stop them, or that something happens and they fall apart too.

Now to wait... gosh this is going to kill me!

Phoenix... what are you waiting for? Some of us have made early votes, but you haven't. (Not that there's a rush to vote either, of course.) From that it just sounds like the suspense is getting to you already. lol.. we've got such a long way to go!!

if you are going to vote please put it in BOLD

like this...I vote to stick a stake into Kash

just for the hell of it ;)

Nice example there, Rocker, on how to vote someone. Now.. pick someone out (someone else, preferrably) to make a "real" vote. I wouldn't want Ice to accidentally count this one by mistake. ;)

I don't like this talk of a dream team or hand picked roles.

I also don't like how being a veteran player somehow makes someone more of a suspect. Kash was evil her first game. Come to think of it I think I was evil my first time (which for the record I was very bad at and get lynched big time).

It is best for me to assume the roles are random and to learn from who voted for who and who has died and not focus on a bunch of what ifs.

I think the next game I mod I will make every newb mafia. I will also give them extra investigations! :p:

Following are Ogre's only five post to date -

Ogre sits on his front porch with a large pile of hickory branches and a knife for whittling.

Actually, I kind of liked the vote first thing, I was hoping you would use it this time around.

Aquariacentral require that alias accounts have 'AC' in front of them. So it's a real account.

Too much info...

OK, we're just blathering now.

I vote to stick a stake in John. He expects it and maybe he'll show up to defend his honor...

Teammates already? hmmm....

You know, I could actually see this. There's always been some concern ever since the 'dreamteam' game... which didn't work out so well at all.

There's a few players in this game who would be good candidates for this.

Now here is Kashta's last post -

Here is the part that bothers me - "Let's see, Ogre said that in reply to my theory that the 2 vamps we're dealing with (so far) are probably both vets at playing this game."

Now maybe I missed and maybe I am skimming, but I just don't see Ogre making that reply. This really looks like Kash putting words in Ogre's mouth.

This really bothers me and I would like to know why Kash put this back on Ogre when all he said (in response to her) was "You know, I could actually see this."

This really bothers me and I feel much better about my vote on Kash. My joke vote on noods from game 53 proved to be on evil and I think this joke vote is also on evil.

Here is the post that Ogre "agreed" with -

Love some of these.. I got some already, but one never knows how much is enough with this crowd.

Finally... a game where it's safe to admit we actually like garlic!!

Good to know our villiage has an idiot. ;) (I've often suspected as much.)

Okay, that's all fun but on with the game.... I basically suspect everyone at this point... of course. But I did look back at that previous vampire game Ice modded since he gave us the link and suggested it. I found it noteworthy to learn that he's known for hand-picking PR roles (of course that time he said it was random). Still with this in mind, I'm thinking he's chosen someone specific for the leading vamp role in this game. That person then gets to pick the second vampire..... then those two get to turn 2 more villagers into vampires over the first 2 days.

As I don't see this progression would really involve new or inexperienced players very much, I'm going to pay more attention and probably be more suspicious of the vets among us.

This is subject to change because a lot is bound to happen before nightfall, but for now...

I vote to drive a stake into Zsandman.

Also here is a quote from Ice at the end of the vampires 17 -

I want add that all roles were random this time.

I would like to know where Kash "found it noteworthy to learn that he's known for hand-picking PR roles."? I know mods are accused of this, but Ice clearly stated after the game that is was random. She made it look like she found her new found knowledge in vampires 17, but I am not sure how when she even states that Ice claimed that is was random. I don't think Ice would lie about this.

This misdirection and misinformation from Kash is fairly blatent. I hope others see this.

Now the vampires are hand picked, by the Lead Vampire. If you go back to vampires 17, the LV, clown-lover, was not an overly experienced veteran, but his turns were very good players. That game also had plenty of new players, but the LV picked strong experinced players.

So let's not worry if who Ice picked for LV was random or not, I am fairly confident that it was random. What is more important is who would the LV want to turn first?

I vote to stake Dawg.
Subject to change without notice.

There is no 'train' possible in this first day (if we understand 'train' as being a whole load of mafia jumping on an innocent who has accrued a couple of votes). There are only two scum voters in the town. Talk of trains forming etc. is pure stupid.

I read the rules page and I didn't see anything about random roles. I did see a townie will get a random list of investigations on night four.

John: I agree that the LV would probably pick experienced players first... hence you. But do you think an experienced LV would picked relative newbies first just cause we would concentrate on the vets?

If I was the LV I would want either one of the best player in the game, or a complete newb who I would (try and) coach.
