MY FIRST CORAL! Update: Some polyps not opening

Ya...I flipped it around today 180. I did it while I did my "mandatory water change".

Long story short, my return pump popped out of its socket and the sump started flooding when I was taking my protein skimmer out because it wasn't working too well anymore. The whole system shut down because the CGI got wet and I ended up taking all this dirty water out of the sump from the debris that got kicked up as a result and did a nice 8 gallon water change as a result.

Yahoo.

So after flipping it around 180, it seems to be a lot happier today as all the heads are getting equal light now. The tall ones were in the back and keeling over the shorter heads, so those weren't getting light.

Now, my new question is this. Do the polyps multiply and/or grow larger or longer as the heads grow larger and mature? I ask because most of the frogspawns I have seen, you can't even see the skeleton because it becomes like a hot air balloon in shape, but mine looks like broccoli right now.

Depends on the specimen, but they will reach a larger size until they begin to split. They'll reach "critical mass" before they split. So, yes, they multiply and get larger for the most part--but don't expect giants out of every specimen, since some stay smaller and more loosely spaced.

^ Oh man...I must have gotten the outcast specimen out of nature's gene pool then haha.

Thanks for the comment, stargazer.

I think it looks more like a frogspawn torch hybrid...all the other frogs I have seen have been really fat in the tentacles (polyps)...this one has a lot of stringy ones on it...does it need to eat more to become fat?

I totally forgot...I moved it to the other side of the tank a couple weeks ago and it spruced up very nicely. Here is a picture I took and totally slipped my mind to post and update.
