Q: How can you tell the difference between a plumber and a pipefitter?

A: Bury them both up to their necks in poop and swing a golf club at their
heads. The plumber's the one who ducks!

lmbo!! I have a friend in the pipefitters union. He always makes a point to correct you if you call him a plumber. He was upset that his dad didn't want him to help with the plumbing in the bathroom remodel he was doing. Pops said "but I need a plumber" and walked off. :p

A pipe fitter deals with pipes in general. Steam, gas, water etc. Plumbers deal with suply and drain water piping. PLumbers are the ones you call out to unclog a toilet etc. and deal with old work far more often.

My husband is a union pipefitter......not a plumber!
So am I, LU 475. What local is he out of? And to all the others.... you can tell the difference very simply. A pipefitter is the one who CAN bite his nails at the end of the day.

and probably wouldn't duck actually... i can't blame them myself, but i'm not a plumber either.

Are they busy there? Worst I've seen it here in my 25 yrs in the trade.
