Mafia 58-

If you guys want to put me up against TRS, that's cool too.

TRS against Ogre is my favorite option, but that's so selfish of me.

By my count, there are now 3 remaining non-communicating mafia members. They no longer have the capability to make a hit.

The 3 communicating innocents are intact plus 2 regular innocents, and the innocent journalist (appears to have learned nothing, or found innocents based on the sports headlines). The only wildcard right now is the Mafia journalist, who seems to be implicating Jpappy.

We can't lost at this point, it's just a matter of time. There is no way that the non-communicating mafia can win a vote over the communicating team, unless the communicators really botch it.

Is it safe for us to say.. since the mafia can't kill with a hit or by controlling the lynch votes that it's safe for the townie journalist to start identifying investigated innocents by name?

I'd say that is indeed prudent at this time, but it violates Ice's rule that the journalists may not identify themselves.

Hmm.. Ice said they can't come out and role-claim their status as journalist. Don't believe he said they couldn't suggest player such and such is innocent (including their own name) in their headlines as long as they keep the writer's identity anonymous.

But I was talking about them publishing invest results.. and they wouldn't investigate themselves anyway. If one were to investigate the other, I doubt Ice would include the journalist role in investigation results either. So they can't expose each other that way.

I think they are allowed to suggest innocent players in the headlines. Not sure why the sportswriter (whom I believe to be the innocent one) wouldn't release the names of an innocent. Except maybe to avoid giving up an innocent name to be hit with the mafia teams night 4 hit.

That was my thinking too, Zaffy. While the mafia team could still kill a known innocent with their hit, it would put them at risk (as I was for tomorrow). All three of them are gone now, so it should be safe enough now to reveal innocent invest results.

I wouldn't be against having any number of choices voted for tomorrow's lynch. I also believe we should all be voting for our strongest suspect... whoever they are. Then, the highest number of votes for anyone and the outcome each night will reflect a true consensus of opinion.

These are my suspects.

1. Zaffy and Ogre - Most likely mafia.
2. TRS, Annie, and Jpappy - Leaning mafia.
3. DD, Zsand, Noods - Most likely innocent.

So I'm not buying the JPappy thing as I don't know why an Innocent Journalist would choose him to invest but I notice the order of the headlines flipped going by style.

WOOT! on getting two Mafia in one Night!!!

We already know the mafia journalist is trying to mislead us so we're not going to listen to whatever that headline says. I do wonder why Jpappy's name was the one published last night as opposed to anyone else's. But without knowing who the mafia journalist is, it's anyone's guess why they chose his particular name. Just something else for us to think about, I suppose.

Aside from the headline... Jpappy should always be watched real close in these games. He's slippery enough as a player to fool us quite well sometimes.. when he has reason to. I also think he and I are in a similar position this round. We've both posted a lot and we've both dug up all sorts of weird ideas to suggest... some turn out to be true, others don't. This could be helpful or damaging to the town side, depending on which role we're in. So we both make good suspects.... that's just part of the game, though. And so it goes...

The main reason I carry Pappy as a low-level suspect still is based on his strong association with Dawg. They suspected the same players, they voted the same way, and they didn't seem to disagree with each other hardly at all. We know which side Dawg was on, so the concern THAT raises is fairly clear. But Pappy has also helped the town a lot.. so the impact he's had on the game overall is probably good.

The good thing is the group tally seems to be working really well and I think it is something we should revisit later in this Day as it pointed soundly to MC.

I agree with this.

I didn't even think of that possibility because I didn't see any way Rich was communicative. BONUS!!!

Slacker! :p:

We have an odd number of players, so this won't end up in a tie.. unless someone else draws votes. Should be interesting.

Day 4 Vote Tally (So Far)

3 Zaffy - Kashta Zsand DD
4 Ogre - Annie Jpappy Noods Zaffy

No vote: TRS and Ogre

Regarding the journalist revealing the investigation results...maybe only if the current top suspects (Zaffy, Ogre, etc.) are in fact innocent? I know it would be helpful to have known innocents, but I think it would end up creating more confusion when both come out and start naming names. Plus, not sure if it's still against the rules.

I guess it is something we can mull over today. Those were just the first thoughts that popped into my head. It's early too...
