I was thinking about that possibility too, Pappy. But I think, if the townie journalist had investigated either Zaffy or Ogre already and the results came back innocent... I believe we would have seen somebody post something in their defense. Or at least urging us in some subtle way to maybe vote a different suspect sooner than them (giving the journalist time to share that piece of information in their next headline).

Since we haven't seen anything like that.. (1) one or the other may be their latest invest and the result we'll read in tomorrow's headline is evil not innocent... or (2) neither of them got investigated yet.

I agree, I think we are on the right track. The only thing is that I am not 100% sure that out of Zaffy, Ogre, and TRS that all three the remaining non communicating mafia. Noods, DD, and Z could easily be fooling me right now just I don't see anything scummy enough at this point to merit a vote for any of them. We are at a big enough advantage that it's not imperative that we vote mafia tonight, although it would be a nice streak to continue. ;)

Anyways, I guess my point was...what if one of those three is the innocent journalist? Given Zaffy and Ogre's "idea" to not just all vote Rich, I would think it would then be TRS also since he focused solely on Rich. Basically it would be hard for someone to come out as the journalist when they are under the spotlight...ya know? Especially since there's no team to confirm it.

Pappy.. you actually posted that speculating which one the town journalist might be? Why is it whenever I start (...even just start!!) to think you might be innocent, you have to go and ruin it all by acting scummy again??

And yes, I know the mafia can't hit anyone now.. but there are still 5 voting mafia scumbags in this game. All it takes is a few missed lynches and our number advantage is lost.

I am pretty much in agreement on this. I am concerned for the safety of the town journalist and am also very concerned about the fact that there is scum doing a pretty good job hiding among the townies. We are not at the critical point yet but could be quickly if we are not careful.

I am happy with the two we have in the running tonite and based on which one gets lynched, I will have to go back and take a good look at everyone.

I keep getting interrupted here at work (jeez!) so my thoughts are getting scattered, but I did want to say that if anyone came out and tried to "claim" the headlines or state who theyu investigated, etc., I would have an extremely difficult time believing them....

to clarify - I am in agreement that it is a concern that we might lynch the journalist. i do not want them to expose themselves.

1) Yes, but why would I put myself on the list?

2) It doesn't matter. There are no hits, and if it helps to narrow down potential suspects I don't see why it is a problem. It was only speculation, as I believe TRS to be more scummy than not until further notice. My overall point was, in theory it is hard for someone who is considered a top suspect to try to validate their role as a townie PR. As subtle as it may be, for someone to say "I investigated so-and-so and actually they are innocent" would be risky. How can we trust them? Then all hell could break loose if the mafia journalist tried to counter. Until now, they've also had to worry about hits so nothing could be indicated in the headlines. Again, more speculation.

3) I thought there were only 3 left? We've gotten rid of 4 of 7 so far. It should be 6-3 if I'm not mistaken...we have some room for error, albeit not a lot. Being non communicating means they basically have to drift along with the town and hope they can stay out of the spotlight long enough. So at the very least we do not have to deal with a voting mass of mafia scum.
