New Project

You are now every commander's dream troop. Trained to face death without flinching and unable to utter a word. Sorta sounds like basic marriage trainin' don't it?

As for the finishing chemicals and fumes, it's not just your airway that you have to protect. ALWAYS READ THE MSDS! Absorption also occurs through your eyes and skin. I was made half deaf from chemical vapors that got into my ears! How friggin' weird is that?

As for the fire that you fought. If the cart had a plastic or F/glass body the fumes were all at the least toxic and at the worst carcinogenic. Aluminum is more frequently alloyed with other metals, so there's no telling what else you were exposed to and that's not taking the foam seats, vinyl seat covers, lubricants, battery elements (lead and or cadmium), etc into consideration. There's a reason ya don't see a lot of old firemen out on the golf course.

Just remember, you're working for the same knuckleheads that told the guys that they could brush their teeth with the orange stuff and it wouldn't hurt 'em.

Document everything 'cuz you'll play hell getting treatment from the tiered V.A. later, if even that's still available by then.

Be well and I wish you a speedy recovery.

Update on the Stand finishing

Well couldn't resist to post pics and let everyone know about how is it going with the project. Comments and ideas are welcome as always.

Wow that looks great and you have inspired me to use a 30 year tall oak cabinet almost exactly that size except the shelves need support as they use pins. A few small aquariums in a shelf like that would take care of allot of QT and compatibility issues.

Looking great, wanna see how the sump works out for all the tanks.
