A 5.5 would be able to house 2 males comfortably. Each male needs approx. 3 gallons. They're too small to do any physical damage to each other, but stress can become an issue if the can't establish territories.
If you can find females I will pay you to send some my way.
I've had mine for a few months now and they're already my favorite nano fish, highly entertaining and gorgeously colored.
