nope... that's the basis behind ei... it's just math.

That probably took way too long, dundadundun.

no doubt

i said i wasn't coming back to this thread and i meant it too. i digress though... obviously boredom struck hard... OBVIOUSLY. lol

All I can say is that in the beginning of my fish keeping, around 1974 or so, I didn't know better so I didn't do WC's often at all. Didn't lose a lot of fish back then, but then again I was always trading them off for something different so I never kept most for longer than a year probably. Around '80 or so, I wised up a bit and started doing them, and have ever since. I wouldn't feel right not doing them just because that's what I do, and my fish live long lives for the most.

I like this answer.

The levels will really stay below 40 for infinity? Thats really nice to know. I always wondered if things would eventually get to high with partial WC schedule without a close to 100% reset now and then.

In theory, given 10 parts pollution. Given a constant pollution level per period Of X, the final pollution level Will be X divided the percentage removed. In this case 10/.25. It's an infinite geometric series, it is the basis of EI, but applies to water changes just as readily.

I just did a water change on my tanks. :eek3:

Q

hmmmmmm I am seeking clarity on the subject of this thread, should I do a water change

and a new song

I can see clearly now the suspended particulate is gone!
Gone are the musty clouds of dissolved solids

If you think you can survive in an air-tight room, don't do water changes.
